What we clear

Firebreaks, hunting land and trails

Cut and maintain firebreaks, get your hunting land ready for deer season, and keep trails, access and property edges open — on their own or as part of one custom plan.

Wildfire risk reduction

Firebreaks & fuel reduction

Reduce the undergrowth and overgrowth that fuels wildfires. Rather than clearing to a mineral dirt level, we brush hog as low as possible to reduce the fuel load and remove the scaffolding of dry vegetation — discouraging fire spread and creating defensible space.

Typical work

  • Cutting tall vegetation
  • Removing accumulated undergrowth
  • Reducing vegetation that can let fire spread
  • Establishing or maintaining firebreaks
  • Creating more defensible space

Firebreaks and fuel reduction lower wildfire risk and help prepare your property. No service can guarantee a fire won’t reach it.

The equipment behind the plan

The right tool for each part of the property

Not every overgrown property needs expensive forestry mulching or heavy land clearing. We offer a custom plan to brush hog where appropriate and forestry mulch where needed — saving you time and money.

We don’t oversell equipment.

We use the right equipment where it makes sense. On larger projects, a custom plan combining brush hogging with selective forestry mulching can be the best overall use of equipment for your goals.

  • Orange tractor pulling a rotary cutter through tall weeds in a pasture, with wooded hills behind.

    On the tractor

Brush hog, land plane & box blade

A 12-foot batwing brush hog for tall grass, weeds, briars and light brush, plus a land plane and box blade for access work — like widening and grading access roads.

  • Red tracked forestry mulcher with a drum head on a bed of freshly mulched brush at a woodland edge.

    On the skid steer

Mulching heads, backhoe & rock crusher

Low-flow and high-flow forestry mulching heads for cedars, small trees and dense undergrowth, plus a backhoe and a jackhammer / rock crusher. For many problems, we offer practical solutions.

Pricing

What does land clearing cost?

There’s no honest single price that fits every property. For larger or reasonably uniform acreage, we can often give a straightforward project price after reviewing the property.

What shapes your estimate

Pricing depends on more than acreage — including what each part of the property needs.

  • Acres to be worked
  • Vegetation height & density
  • Brush, saplings & cedars
  • Brush hogging, mulching or both
  • Terrain
  • Rocks, wire, stumps & debris
  • Equipment access
  • Distance from our base

Same acreage, different job

  • 5 acresTrails & firebreaks kept openLighter job
  • 5 acresTrails & firebreaks long grown overMuch heavier job
Keeping trails and firebreaks open is a different job from reopening ones that have grown over. We price the property accordingly.

Small projects carry a minimum service charge, since loading, transporting and unloading the tractor or skid steer is part of every job.

Questions

Land clearing FAQs

Does my property need heavy land clearing?

Usually not. Not every overgrown property needs expensive forestry mulching or heavy land clearing. We choose the equipment for each part of the property — brush hogging where it’s feasible, forestry mulching where it’s necessary — instead of pushing the most expensive land-clearing solution.

How do you cut firebreaks?

We cut vegetation as low as practical instead of stripping it to bare mineral soil. That reduces the fuel load and the dry vegetation that can carry fire. Firebreaks and fuel reduction lower wildfire risk; they can’t guarantee a fire won’t reach your property.

What does deer season prep include?

Whatever your custom hunting preparation package calls for: clearing ATV trails and shooting lanes, clearings for feeders, widening and grading access roads, parking areas for trucks, trailers and ATVs, and hunt camp clearing for RVs and campers — so your land is ready for a productive deer season.

Can you reopen old trails and field roads?

Yes. We can maintain or reopen accessible ATV and UTV trails, hunting access, equipment paths, shooting lanes, pond access, field roads and property inspection routes — so you can reach and use every part of your property again.

Do you mow around fence lines, ponds and barns?

Yes. We provide mowing and vegetation management around accessible fence lines, ponds, barns, field edges, drive approaches, private roads and rural structures.

Can you estimate from photos?

Often, yes. Many properties can be evaluated remotely using your photos, acreage information and satellite imagery. More complicated projects may need an in-person visit before we can give an accurate estimate.
